Playing video games might improve eyesight

Playing “action” video games may be good for your eyes, according to new research from the University of Rochester. Researchers found that people who played these types of games for a month improved their vision by about 20%.

According to Daphne Bavelier, professor of brain and cognitive sciences:

“Action video game play changes the way our brains process visual information… These games push the human visual system to the limits and the brain adapts to it. That learning carries over into other activities and possibly everyday life.”
