An inexpensive new blood test may be able to reveal your risk of a heart attack or stroke, according to a new study from UC San Francisco. Doctors hope to use the test to learn which heart disease patients are at the greatest risk of future problems, allowing them to be more aggressive in prescribing preventative therapies.
The test measures a combination of certain amino acids in the blood that are related to heart function and will cost between $20 and $40.
