Women who have very dense breast tissue are at a much greater risk of developing breast cancer than women with more fatty breast tissue, according to a new study from Canada. Researchers found that women with at least 75% dense breasts were 5 times more likely to develop cancer than women with less than 10% density.
Doctors recommend mammograms to determine breast density. Experts believe that one day doctors may prescribe special lifestyle changes or possibly even preventative treatments based on a woman’s individual breast density. Until then, all women should research natural ways to prevent breast cancer.
