A new report from the American Academy of Pediatrics says that children need more unstructured playtime for healthy development. Researchers say that plenty of free playtime is vital for the development of creativity, problem-solving skills, social skills, and more. Many experts also believe that unstructured, relaxed playtime is extremely important for keeping a child’s stress levels down.
So be sure to schedule some free time in between your kids’ “enrichment activities” and allow them to just play without worrying that they’re wasting their time.
