Worried about dangerous bacteria like E. coli in your salads? You might want to start washing your greens (and any other fruits/veggies you’re about to eat) with white vinegar. Recent studies have shown that soaking fresh produce in vinegar for 5 minutes and then rinsing with clean water right before eating can help to reduct levels of E. coli and other dangerous types of bacteria.
For even more bacteria-killing power, fill a spray bottle with 3% hydrogen peroxide and use it on your produce as well. Check this out:

Note: No amount of washing guarantees that all harmful bacteria on produce will be killed!
